At TAMU-SPE we are proud to show you some of our flagship events!

Despite being put against unprecedented hardships in the industry, TAMU-SPE still managed to provide its student members with over 100+ events to network and build their technical skills.

As the largest discipline-specific career fair at Texas A&M, the CEE attracts dozens of oil and gas industry recruiters each semester. This event is a great way for companies to meet and engage with TAMU-SPE members who are looking for summer internships, co-ops, and full-time positions.

SAH Sporting Clays Tournament

The Stephen A. Holditch Memorial Sporting Clays Tournament is an annual fall-semester event hosted by SPE where students have an opportunity to network with several company representatives while also competing in a friendly, all-day tournament for some amazing prizes!

The DVG Golf Tournament is a great event for students and company representatives to enjoy a day of golf and networking. The Tournament’s main goal is to raise proceeds to contribute to the DVG Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship specifically contributes to student scholarships within the Harold Vance Department of Petroleum Engineering. Along with everything else the tournament is made to honor an outstanding leader in Petroleum Engineering education, Dr. Douglas Von Gonten.

Diversity and Inclusion (D&I)

The “D&I: Setting the Stage” Panel is a TAMU-SPE priority initiative organized to raise awareness for D&I issues and inspire change in both the workplace and university settings. This panel served as an introductory discussion on the world of diversity and inclusion and was targeted to students who had little knowledge of the topic and its importance for practicing petroleum engineers. In future events, we hope to explore D&I best practices, more detailed advocacy tactics, and new graduate / new hire experiences.

The Technical Exhibition and Networking Event (TENE) is the largest technical event of the year TAMU-SPE organizes. The purpose was to bring students and professionals from across the industry together to exchange technical knowledge in the oil and gas industry. The event was a full day of technical presentations followed by a networking event in the evening.
